Areas of Expertise

Mental Health and Well-Being for Executives and Legal Professionals/Students

I help executives, attorneys, and graduate students cultivate healthy strategies to cope with stress and prioritize their mental health and well-being. For many years, I managed the high demands of practicing law, founded and built a national non-profit organization, and served on numerous government councils and non-profit boards.  Additionally, I spent more than a decade in higher education leading a law school mental health and wellness program, counseling law students and alumni with career and professional concerns and teaching first- and third-year law courses.

Coping with Chronic/Terminal Illness and Caregiving

I know first-hand the challenges patients and their loved ones face while coping with life-altering, chronic or terminal illness. For twenty-five years, I personally and professionally navigated the complexities of the medical healthcare system on a national and local level. I piloted uncharted pathways for disenfranchised patients and helped patients and their families manage the impact of illness. As a psychotherapist, I provide compassionate guidance and support to help patients and their loved ones process difficult emotions, develop coping strategies, foster resilience, and learn to thrive.

Grief and Bereavement

As an end-of-life trained doula and grief counselor, I provide empathetic support and guidance to help individuals navigate the difficult emotions and challenges that come with loss. I use various therapeutic techniques to help clients understand their grief process and develop coping strategies. Acknowledging that grief is a unique experience, I support clients in their journey towards healing, acceptance, and finding a renewed sense of purpose and meaning in life.

My Approach

I prioritize creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors without judgment. Utilizing my broad knowledge base, keen analytical skills, life-inspired wisdom, and compassionate heart, I help clients cultivate greater insight, self-awareness, and positive change within their lives. Through active listening and collaborative goal setting, clients identify their strengths, values, and goals. Throughout the therapeutic journey, progress is assessed and interventions modified to ensure continued alignment with each client's evolving needs and objectives.
